This is VicToRia's tenth week home, and it's time for some more riding.
I got ahold of some of the local riders that I've meet on the ZR-7 and FZ1 forums.
So naturally Jim (aka YodaDada) came along. But, So did Tom (aka TTFZ1), Jim (aka DayGlo),
Charlie (aka Chillito) and his friend John. We're all either married, have kids or both.
So we could only get a half day of riding in.
We decided to explorer Highway 150:

We all met at a gas station near my house in Moorpark and headed out.
We took the Highway 23 North out of Moorpark until we reached Highway 126.
We took Highway 126 west into Santa Paula until we reached Highway 150.
We then took Highway 150 west into Capinteria.

Our first stop was this place called the Summit. We really didn't get anything there just enjoyed some
shade in the parking lot while we talked about our bikes. There was plenty to talk about since there were
so many different bikes. YodaDada was on his '02 Silver FZ-1, TTFZ1 was on his '01 Blue FZ-1, DayGlo
was on his '00 Blue ZR-7, Chillito was on his '02 Red CBR 600 F4i, John (who's new nickname is AAA)
was on his '98 Black Bandit 1200 and of course I was riding Vicky my '98 VTR1000F.

After realizing that we were spending more time talking bikes than riding them we decided to head out.
TTFZ1 told us he had to be back a bit early to take his family to the beach and would excuse himself once
he ran out of time, probably once we got to Lake Casitas.

Things we're going along well and TTFZ1 decided to get a bit more spirited before he had to head home.
I took chase and we quickly found ourselves at the lake. TTFZ1 still had some time so we decided to keep
going down HWY 150. Shortly after passing the lake I started to notice that TTFZ1 was running out of
time. We decided to pull over to the side of the road to wait for the others and let TTFZ1 say his goodbyes.
YodaDada pulled up right when we had picked a spot.

It was starting to feel like we were waiting a little bit too long when AAA (John) pulls up and says
that Chillito had gone down. Needless to say we geared up and headed back. DayGlo was there waiting
with Chillito. Chillito was physically ok. His jacket saved him some skin. But his CBR had a bent
shifter peg bracket (?). John was able to take a few of the tools from our toolkits and bend it back
enough for it to be usable (hence his new nickname AAA).

Chillito told us all that he had fallen victim to target fixation. He saw some gravel in a down hill,
decreasing radius left hand turn and couldn't take his eyes off of it. Lesson learned and he didn't get
hurt. The bike had some road rash, a bent clutch lever and busted turn light, but was ridable.

TTFZ1 had to leave by this time but made sure that Chillito was okay before he left.
We decided to finish making our way out to the 101 Freeway so Chillito could just keep the CBR pointed
straight. Once we reached the 101 we headed down the Freeway until we reached an In-n-Out Burger in Ventura.

It was a fun ride. My round trip was 114 miles. That also happened to be the maximum speed I reached
during the ride (according to my GPS). I had been on part of this road before but have never
been on the whole thing. The weather was great but the traffic was pretty thick in some parts.
I'm sure it would have been better if we had left earlier than 9:30.
